On being a writer and a student

Sometimes, finding time to write can be next to impossible. It’s a passion that can sometimes be difficult to find time for. Between finishing school, working, blogging, doing the rest of my classwork and attempting to maintain a social life, it can be rather hard to find time to do what you love. I’m sure a lot of people who read this have the same issue, and I want you to know, I feel you.

Look at my desk, I don’t even have room for my laptop on there!

  1. Actually, I disagree with you.

All you need is organization. It would clear your desk, making it tidy and giving you room to work. I can even see the free space underneath that you could lean the books up against which already frees up half of the area.

The heart of the matter is that you can find it a chore to write. Like anything, it requires effort and hard work to progress to anything greater than an occasional hobby. Making time in your schedule to devote yourself to writing on any level is already an improvement. It doesn’t matter if it’s character planning, area layouts, story structure, character dialogue a diagram that relates all your characters together, it’s all part of the process and it all helps.

After all, if it is something you truly love, you would find reasons TO do it, rather than to NOT.
